The Playhouse Company has revived its popular children’s club. Now titled Creative Kids Club, it offers a fun way for children between the ages of eight and 16 to learn more about the performing arts. This includes music, dance and drama tuition with the emphasis on stimulating creative talent and encouraging and nurturing an appreciation and enjoyment of the arts amongst young children.

The six month programme costs R200 excluding the registration fee of R50 which must be paid up-front in order to secure a place on the course. Due to the limited number of pupils the Club can accommodate, registration will only be confirmed on a first-come, first-accepted basis.

Tutors for this year’s Creative Kids Club are Phenduka Dance Theatre Company members Sibonakaliso Ndaba, Sifiso Kweyama, Ondine Bello and drama specialist Jenine Mackay. These highly-trained performers have returned to Durban after an eight year stint with Jazzart in Cape Town.

The course culminates with a show by the Creative Kids Club at The Playhouse in September. To register, call Trevor Draai on (031) 369-9461 between 14h00 and 16h00 weekdays only.
