The Playhouse Company, with generous sponsorship from Transnet, will take over 50 performers from community-based and semi-professional initiatives to the Standard Bank National Arts Festival in Grahamstown.

The Playhouse Company will provide a platform for groups such as the eight-member Sagiya Afro Fusion Band, popular Durban drumming outfit THC, maskanda group Isisu Sezwe (back by popular demand), the dynamic and robust Amatsheketshe (a traditional Zulu dance group from Cato Ridge) and the predominantly Indian dance academy, KwaZulu-Natal Dance Theatre

If you’re attending the Festival, watch out for these exciting home-grown acts!
