Amasiko is a wide-ranging cultural programme attached to the XIII International AIDS Conference which is expected to attract up to 10,000 people from all over the world to Durban. The participants will include scientists and clinicians, health care workers, public health agencies, People Living With AIDS (PWA), politicians, NGOs and the media. The name "Amasiko" is taken from the Nguni dialects IsiXhosa and IsiZulu and means "cultures, traditions and social values". The sphere and ambit of influence of the programme is wide and will permeate all levels of the conference and the host community. Details of the daily events will be featured on the Miscellaneous pages closer to the conference dates
