Well-known TV and radio presenter, Patricia Glyn is to be behind the microphone of SAfm's daily classical music programme Sundowner Classics broadcast every weekday from 18h30 to 19h30.

Patricia Glyn, who is well-known on the station for her incisive, intelligent interviewing on Patricia's People fills the gap left by Rodney Trudgeon who has retired from national radio. She studied opera at the University of Cape Town Opera School, having studied piano, violin and guitar at school.

"We were presented with the challenge of introducing a presenter with both a credible track record in broadcasting and a passion for classical music. We decided long ago that, if we were to present this type of programming, we should do it properly and in keeping with the standard we set ourselves on the rest of our schedule", SAfm marketing manager, Tony Lankester said. "I am delighted that Patricia agreed to do the programme - she has a huge following and is a remarkable broadcaster. She has a knack of taking difficult subjects and explaining them in terms everyone can relate to. We hope she'll bring the same sensitivity to the classics."

Patricia Glyn will continue to presentPatricia’s People on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 12h30 on SAfm. The station will continue to broadcast the Thursday concert, with an introduction presented by Simon Lomberg and John Orr will present the weekly Sunday morning concert.
