Jillian Hamilton of Durban regularly attends poetry groups at the BAT Centre (run by Simran Kindra) and Java@Java (run by Ursula Cox), both of which are looking for new venues in the new year. Prompted by this need for new venues, Jillian Hamilton is seriously considering looking for a house to rent which she could use to set up an "open house" for the arts in general.

She needs premises large enough to accommodate herself and her two grown up sons with a suitable area such as a library where smallish groups could meet. "My ideal would be one of those older Durban homes with a green corrugated roof, wide verandahs and a lush tropical garden," says Jillian.
