The Blue Monday Platform is a youth initiative which had a very successful run last year at both the Hilton Festival and the Catalina Theatre with the performance of The Best of and intends on growing from strength to strength in the upcoming year.

Taking place every three months, The Blue Monday Platform is a PANSA and Department of Arts, Culture and Tourism sponsored initiative which is trying to get youth more involved in the performing and visual arts. Getting teens back into the theatre foyers and being more creative is the sole intention of the platform.

The Blue Monday Platform, which takes place on April 24, welcomes any upcoming poet, musician, play write, comedian or even mime artists. All are welcome to this free space where their views can be aired and their next Oscar winning performance can be rehearsed in front of a live audience.

A number of acts have gained employment off the platform, as one never knows who could be in the audience. The platform is an open stage that showcases snippets of local talent.

Entrance is free and all are welcome. Those wishing to perform should contact Dylan on 083 671 8531.

NB: The PANSA KZN Annual General Meeting takes place at Catalina Theatre prior to The Blue Monday Platform on April 24 at 17h00. All performing artists are urged to get involved, be active and take ownership! For more information contact Mlu on 031 201 2161
