Dr Chris Ellis, a general practitioner from Pietermaritzburg, will give a talk at 18h00 on November 4 in the Kloof Town Hall entitled Language, Writing and Cross-Cultural Communication.

Dr Ellis is a highly knowledgeable and entertaining speaker who has just written a book called Communicating with the African Patient. The book addresses issues of confusion which arise from different perspectives of Western doctors and traditional rural African patients and its aim is to establish clear understanding and communication between cultures so as to receive and give information which is not misunderstood.

Tickets R25 include a glass of wine and light snacks after the talk. Copies of Dr Ellis's book will be available for purchase. Tickets available at Kloof Library - more information on 031 764 7543 or Jill Storrar on 083 309 6211.
