On April 5, the Pietermaritzburg-based University Film Club is back in action with their Thursday classic films, shown at 18h00 in the CVA lecture theatre in Ridge Road.

The featured film will be Nicholas Ray's 1950 production, In a Lonely Place. This is a haunting film noir thriller, with great central performances by Humphrey Bogart and Gloria Grahame.

Bogart plays Dix Steele, a truculent, embittered but vulnerable screen-writer who becomes involved in a passionate affair with his neighbour (Grahame) when she provides him with an alibi for murder.

Safe parking available.
