On October 25 at 21h00, Action X on DStv will screen Platoon starring Tom Berenger, Charlie Sheen and Willem Dafoe. The director is Oliver Stone.

An American infantry unit is stationed near the Cambodian border during the height of the Vietnam War. The platoon, led by rival Sergeants Barnes (Tom Berenger) and Elias (Willem DaFoe), is made up of tough guys, stoners and loners. Ordered to take a village whose farmers are suspected of aiding the Vietcong, the unit terrorizes the peasants, murdering a young man and gang raping a young girl.

The unprovoked brutality results in a split between the platoon’s factions, a division that will end in tragedy.
