M-Net Series is, as the channel’s payoff-line states, the ‘home of hit TV’. The channel broadcasts favourite short format programmes and often boasts exclusive material that has never been seen on South African television before.

M-Net Series (channel 36 on DStv) salutes women in August as South Africa celebrates Woman’s Day. The Ellen DeGeneres Show will see the star interviewing celebrities such as Martha Stewart, Jennifer Aniston, Evangeline Lilly (Lost), Mariah Carey and Cyndi Lauper.

Other entertaining series are For Love or Money, The Golden Girls and X Files, Buffy, the Vampire Slayer and Will and Grace.

Other highlights on M-Net Series in August include Beverly Hills 902107 which explores the realities and myths of social classes in Beverly Hills while at the same time exposing the strains this lifestyle can put on family relationships. Oz takes its audiences inside Oswald State Correctional Facility: Level Four where the staff try to change the violent, amoral culture of prejudice and cruelty among the prisoners. Soul Food chronicles the lives of a tight-knit African American family living in Chicago.
