On May 11, the Pietermaritzburg University Film Club is screening Hal Hartley's 1997 film, Henry Fool.

Hartley has proved popular with FilmClub audiences and in this film, a mysterious, charismatic drifter moves in on a dysfunctional small-town family - hopelessly shy garbage-collector Simon, his depressive mother and his promiscuous sister - and radically changes their lives.

The humour in Henry Fool is rather more scatological than in Hartley's earlier work but it is still a witty black comedy. Films are shown at 18h00 in the CVA lecture theatre Ridge Road. Safe parking is available.
