The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced this year's nominees for the 78th annual Academy Awards®, affectionately known as the Oscars®.

2006 is proving to be a strong year for South African talent; Charlize Theron has earned a Best Actress nomination for North Country while Tsotsi has been nominated for Best Foreign Film.

This February, in the run up to the ceremony at the beginning of March, TCM (Channel 09 on DStv) features the biggest stars, the best films and the most gifted directors who have either won or been nominated for the most coveted golden statue in 28 Days of Oscar®, hosted by a third-generation Oscar® winner, Anjelica Huston.

Join TCM every day in February for a highlight of some of the best Oscar®-winning and nominated films. Every Tuesday Anjelica Huston introduces some of her favourite Oscar®-nominated and winning movies in a celebration of the excitement, glamour and anticipation of the Oscar® season.
