On September 1, the University Film Club will show Roberto Rossellini’s 1953 film, Viaggio in Italia/Voyage to Italy.

A film in which "nothing is explained but everything is felt", Viaggio is a meditative piece and represents the radical turn in Rossellini's work. The plot is slight - an American couple holidaying in Italy try to recover their faltering relationship.

The film's emotional power and insight are extraordinary, and its beauty undeniable. Films are shown in the Centre for Visual Arts Lecture Theatre in Ridge Road, Pietermaritzburg, at 18h00. There is secure parking.
