The University's Film Club in Pietermaritzburg is showing Robert Altman's Short Cuts. This is the “long film” to round off this season's classic movie series and is a mosaic of short stories by Raymond Carver, transferred from the mid-West to Los Angeles and forged into an intricate coherence.

The film boasts a fine ensemble cast. Although Short Cuts has been described as "the shortest-seeming long movie of the 1990s", there will be a brief interval with wine and snacks.

The film will be screened on May 19 at 18h00 in the CVA off Ridge Road, Pietermaritzburg.
