Britain lost one of its finest actors when Sir John Mills, passed away this month. BBC World’s Hard Talk on DStv will present a repeat of an interview first recorded and broadcast in 1999.

For nearly 70 years, the venerable Sir John Mills enjoyed a consistently successful and distinguished career. Building on a catalogue of mild-mannered but iron-willed film characters in his youth, he made his name both on stage and television. With appearances in more than 100 films, he conveyed the quiet passion of the noble Englishman, intent on doing the decent thing.

In this interview recorded in 1999, Tim Sebastian talked to him about his remarkable career.

The programme will first be aired in Hard Talk on BBC World on DStv on April 29 at 05h30 with repeats at 10h30; 17h30; 20h30 and 01h30.
