A firm favourite with South African audiences is the television programme Yes Minister with Paul Eddington as the Right Honourable Jim Hacker, Nigel Hawthorn as his wily permanent secretary and Derek Fowlds as press secretary.

The well-researched scripts along with the brilliant Eddington-Hawthorne double act make for a hilariously witty and perceptive political satire.

This delicious comedy is broadcast Monday to Friday from September 1 at 23h30 on BBC Prime on DStv. It’s worth getting connected to DStv for this one alone!
