On July 31 and August 7, M-Net will present Life With Judy Garland.

The mini-series is based on the book by Garland's daughter Lorna Luft, Me and My Shadows: A Family Memoir and chronicles Garland's memorable life from her first step on stage at the age of three to her death in her in 1969.

Born Frances Ethel Gumm, Judy Garland’s rise to stardom in the 1930s was a result of an overbearing mom (played by Marsha Mason) who pushed her daughter to limelight. Garland, on the other hand was just a sweet kid who wanted to please her mother.

With Luft as the author and co-executive producer of this television biopic, the mini-series tells of Garland’s struggles with life. From Garland's marital problems, addictions and battles with studios and networks- the mini-series tell it all.

Featuring performances by Tammy Blanchard as teen Judy and Judy Davis as the adult version, the story elevates beyond the realm of traditional television biographies. Both actresses won Emmy Awards for their portrayals, best actress for Australian Davis and best supporting actress for Blanchard.
