In response to numerous requests, Janet van Eeden is to present a film writing course at the Midlands Arts & Crafts Society (Macs) in Pietermaritzburg from October 6.

The workshops will begin on October 6 and will take place over the following three consecutive weekends, making four all in all. Tea and coffee and muffins will be served as part of the course and people can buy their own lunch from Macs if they chose to during the lunch break.

“The course will focus specifically on film writing and the aim would be to have a short film written by those attending by the end of the course,” explains Janet. “I have written film scripts for 11 years and my first feature film is in the final stages of post production. I have taught scriptwriting at UKZN for the past two and a half years. Two of my scriptwriting students were awarded MNet Edit awards to make their short films in each of the consecutive years I have been teaching.

The cost of the course will be R1,000 for the four days (concessions for students and pensioners) and the numbers will be kept small to ensure individual attention. First come first served. Contact Janet van Eeden on 082 827 1948 or visit www.janetvaneeden.com
