The Carnegie Art Gallery in Newcastle will exhibit the works of local artist Sicelo Ziqubu on the theme Past Present & Future from August 14 to September 5.

Sicelo Ziqubu is a self-taught artist whose achievements have become noticed nationally. He was recently selected as one of the finalists for the ABSA Atelier award. His decorated chairs on the theme of the 2010 Soccer World Cup have been purchased by a major shoe retailer and the eThekwini Municipality.

The artist will conduct a walkabout of the exhibition on August 30 at 10h30. Gallery hours are Tuesday to Friday from 09h00 to 17h00 (Saturdays 09h00 to 12h00). More information on 034 328 7622 or email: gallery@newcastle.gov.za
