NB: as of 23 September 2008, all new artSMart articles are being published on the site news.artsmart.co.za. Rhumbelow Theatre has managed to entice the acclaimed and multi-award winning Andrew Warburton to this informal community theatre venue for a programme of music ranging from the classics through to shows, jazz and Webber. What more could lovers of fine piano music want for an enchanted evening out than spending time in the company of one of Durban’s finest classical pianists? An Evening With Andrew Warburton will be filled with light banter about Andrew’s experiences (some to be remembered and others not) during his musical career. Many will remember Andrew’s highly amusing performance in Brutal Tunes (due to be presented at a couple of performances at the Witness Hilton Arts Festival in September) in which he flaunts some of his outrageous fur coats and hats. These will no doubt be given an airing at Rhumbelow! Shows take place on September 5 and 6 at 20h00 and September 7 at 18h30. The venue opens 90 minutes before show for picnic dinner. Tickets R70. Take along food picnic baskets and braais will be available. There is limited secure parking and booking is essential. A cash bar is available (no alcohol may be brought on to the premises). Rhumbelow Theatre is situated in Cunningham Avenue off Bartle Road. To book contact Roland on 031 205 7602 (h) or 082 499 8636, email roland@stansell.za.net or visit www.rhumbelow.za.net
