Friends of Music has a varied line-up of recitals for 2001. Exact dates have not yet been finalised and additional recitals could still be arranged. Watch the press for details.

The first recital on January 23 looks no further than Durban for its top performers: tenor Bongani Tembe, soprano Linda Bukhosini and their daughter Ndomiso. They will be followed by three Italian artistes - Avram Reichart (February), guitarist Aldo Lagrutta (March) and pianist Cario Guaitoli (May), the latter being a winner of many international piano competitions.

September sees an appearance by the Sorrel String Quartet from the United Kingdom. Their first violinist, Gina McCormack, is a South African now living in London. Another South African living abroad is pianist Petronel Malan (October) who now lives in the USA.
