For those who like a light dose of classical music, join the Durban City Orchestra when it makes a return appearance after its original highly successful debut at Camelot, Camelot Country Estate, Hillcrest. The next concert takes place on November 19 at 15h00 in the castle at Camelot and the venue can be reached just off the West Riding Road.

The roots of the Durban City Orchestra go back to the Durban Philharmonic Society which was founded in 1888. Under conductor Naum Rousine, the DCO provides a platform for amateur musicians to play as an ensemble. It also gives music students of the University of Natal Durban and young musicians aiming for a musical career an opportunity to study works from the orchestral repertoire and gain experience in ensemble playing.

The programme at Camelot includes music by Mozart, Bach, Gluck, Gilbert and Sullivan as well as Johan Strauss, with additional highlights from the musical My Fair Lady. Tickets R25 (children and students half price) at the door. No booking required.
