Mr Price and the Friends of the Durban Botanic Gardens welcome Freshlyground to the Durban Botanic Gardens on April 1.

Formed in Cape Town in 2003, Freshlyground comprises seven talented musicians from southern Africa who have enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame since those early years. Last year they gained huge international recognition when they won the 2006 MTV Award for the “Best African Act”.

They have successfully incorporated elements of traditional South African music, blues and jazz, as well as indie rock in their music. The wonderfully distinctive voice of lead singer Zolani Mahola contributes to the band’s unique sound.

Opening the concert is local melodic pop rock band Spoonfeedas.

The Mr Price Music at the Lake concert takes place at 15h00 on April 1. Tickets R100 pp (R50 children 6 to 12) on sale now at the Info Centre in the Durban Botanic Gardens (no cheques or credit cards accepted). Tickets also available through www.Ticketconnection.co.za
