Four modern African master musicians from the University of Nigeria, Nssuka, are in town and will shortly give two performances at the University of Natal! The Igba Joli Four will give a concert of their new style of African popular music theatre termed as Oko-Oko music on May 8 in Howard College Theatre at 19h30. They describe Oko-Oko as “dance music with space for free expression in dance interpretation.” The repertoire contains vocal and instrumental pieces and the musicians play traditional Igbo instruments from Nigeria. Admission R15 (students/scholars R5) at the door.

On May 10 at 12h15, the Igba Joli Four will give a free lunch-hour concert in the same venue when they will be accompanied by music students at the University of Natal.
