Internationally acclaimed guitarist Philip Thabane affectionately known as Dr Malombo and the band will perform in the Playhouse Drama on the November 11 2006 at 19h30.

Thabane last performed in Durban five years ago and his unique sound and guitar strutting pattern will certainly leave all his fans agape. Brilliant drumming by his son Thabang is also an ingredient behind the formidable sounds of Malombo. Thabane has performed all over the world in a career that spanned over 30 years.

Durban’s famous isicathamiya group Durban Black Drifters will accompany the legendary musician. The group is currently touring 100 schools with their isicathamiya music workshops sponsored by the Royal Netherlands Embassy. After this gig they will be appearing in the 2nd Nkandla Art Festival on December 9 in Nkandla before departing for the United States where they are set to tour for two months.

This show is organised and managed by DBD Entertainment in association with National Sorghum Breweries. Dress smart casual or traditional, no weapons, bottles and nonsense allowed as security will be tight. Admission R95pp.
