The University of KwaZulu-Natal has a regular jazz/blues/folk programme at the Centre for Jazz:

February 24 from 17h30 to 21h30: Blues Club presents Richard Haslop plus Bobby and the Dynamites. Admission R20 (R10 students).

February 28 from 17h30 to 21h00: Jazz Centre presents Nhanssalà featuring six musicians from France and five from Mozambique (musical theatre, jazz, rock, contemporary music) in collaboration with Alliance Française and IFAS. NB: Special admission price R20 (R5 students).

March 7 from 17h30 to 19h30: Folk Club features Quark with Fiona Tozer (guitar and vocals), Anton Cawthorn-Blazeby (violin) and Logan Byrne (double bass) plus two solo artists. Admission R20 (R10 members and students).

March 8: Jazz Centre* presents Vanessa & Friends with Vanessa Moodley (vocals), Ian Francis (piano), Ian Baggette from USA (double bass) and Gareth Gale (drums).

March 15: Jazz Centre* presents Cara Olsen Quartet featuring Cara (vocals) Burton Naidoo (piano), Logan Byrne (bass) and Donovan Jacobs (drums).

March 22: Jazz Centre* presents Skokiana with Sazi Dlamini & Friends.

March 27: Jazz Centre* presents Theloniousphere Trio featuring Burton Naidoo (piano), Ian Baggette (double bass) and Donovan Jacobs (drums).

March 31from 17h30 to 19h30: Blues Club presents Wills Blues Band and surprise band! Admission: R20 (R10 students).

*Jazz Centre programmes run from 17h30 to 18h30. Admission R10 (R5 students). Programme subject to change.

Directions: Travel along South Ridge Road, turn right into Queen Elizabeth Avenue and first left into 75th Anniversary Ave (UKZN Gate No. 2) until you come to traffic circle - Jazz Centre (sundeck on left) and Shepstone Student Car Park (on right). NB UKZN Gate No 2 shuts at 17h20 after which use main UKZN entrance Gate 1.
