The Playhouse Company in Durban will hold its annual Isicathamiya Festival in the Playhouse Opera on November 12. This annual crowd-pulling event is presented as the final leg of this year's International Traditional Arts Festival that was staged at the Playhouse in September.

More than 90 groups from all over KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape and as far field as Swaziland will take part in this all-night isicathamiya music marathon. Isicathamiya is a uniquely KZN music style made world famous by Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

The event starts at 19h30 and ends with prize giving, not only for the best choristers but for oswenka (a traditional fashion parade which is an annual highlight) on Sunday morning at approximately 09h00.
