The final concert in the Playhouse Company’s popular 1999 Evening of Song series will take place in the Playhouse Studio at 17h30 on October 29. The first half of the concert will feature baritone Richard Salmon accompanied by David Smith in a programme of mainly English songs by Vaughan-Williams, Ives and Britten.

The second section of the concert will feature the Durban Chamber Choir. Founded in 1992 by members of the former Errol Slatter Chorale, the Durban Chamber Choir has some 25 to 30 members and has established a fine reputation as a specialist in chamber choral music. The choir will sing a capella music by Barber, Copland, Kodaly and others.
