Inspired by a fun creative writing exercise in the classroom, a group of pupils from Clayhaven Primary School in Phoenix decided to put together an anthology of poems.

It took them six months and the result is a collection of 150 poems in seven different languages including Zulu, Afrikaans, Tamil and Hindi. Now compiled into a booklet titled Poetry for All, of which 1,000 copies have been printed, it was edited by grade seven pupil Yovina Naidoo.

The booklet is available at a cost of R20 and the money generated will be used for much-needed repairs to the school.
