Recently The Centre for the Book in Cape Town has been a buzz of children’s writers, publishers, illustrators, librarians, booksellers, educators, storytellers, media people planning to Create One Voice as a strong network of everyone concerned with South African children’s literature.

The network will serve as a lobby group, a web-based communication and information sharing body and to promote the study of children’s literature – particularly for trainee librarians and teachers. Those who have power and influence are asked to recognise that a love of reading will open doors for children, and will turn South Africa as a nation around.
