Founded by writer Stan Almendro, www.whisperpoetry.com is a club based in South Africa. As such, it promotes writing talent in Africa and further afield throughout the world.

“We have also had the privilege of publishing the work (one book per year subject to funding being available) of our members, most of whom are students,” explains Stan Almendro. “We continue to work hard to promote these gifted writers and funds are always a concern.

“We have, in order to overcome this started our own book club and - besides offering our own books -we wish to attract people to use this facility which will give us a source of income to do so much more for many very poor writers in Africa. It also avoids a begging mentality and at the same time we aim to raise the sales of people who choose to use the facility.

“Please feel free to visit our site and assess the standard of our work. It would be sincerely appreciated if people would consider using our book store or advertising on our site. A facility also exists on our site for donations and any contribution will do a lot for our project.”
