A student production from the students of the Durban University of Technology which was overtly titled and rather catchy, however the scandalous title left much to be desired in terms of script. The story was a bit confusing in presentation. Three sections of the stage were separated into an office with a camera, a radio station broadcast studio and a dressing room with a clothes rail.

Life’s Hard When You Have A Vagina started off with four woman dressed as mannequins, two radio DJs and an empty office. The story progressed to revolve around a girl, who had been dumped by her boyfriend and was wondering why men behave in certain ways and women’s reactions to this. It also had its cabaret moments which were sung well by the cast and helped maintain high energy.

It tackled issues of woman in tough spots. The style was extremely cartoon-like and over-the-top in presentation. Accents were covered extensively as international foreign women were given a voice as well as local. Accents were well done .It was very funny and silly at the same time with moments of rip-roaring laughter and other moments of utter confusion. With a bad script, the actors performing did an excellent job with what they were given and played each role convincing and with absolute passion.
