NB: as of 23 September 2008, all new artSMart articles are being published on the site news.artsmart.co.za. The indefatigable and always popular Essop Khan and Mahomed Ally's Ekma Productions give one performance of their Cha-Cha's Spaza Shop at the Truro Hall in Pietermaritzburg on May 19. This is a revival of a success from seven years ago, updated with current issues, a tighter script and new English and Hindi songs. The plot revolves around relationships, corruption, insurance scams, drug abuse, crime and religious tolerance, all put together with Khan and Ally's trade mark comedy skill. The performance of Cha-Cha's Spaza Shop takes place on May 19 at 20h00. Tickets are available from Bhamjee's Fashion Store (033 342 2025) and Goga's Pharmacy (033 391 0372).
