Mignon Furman, former acting director and ballet lecturer at the University Cape Town and now director of the American Academy of Ballet, will return to South Africa to conduct the second Performance Awards instruction programme for ballet teachers at the University of Natal, Durban, from May 10 to 14.

The instruction programme is open to registered, fully qualified teachers – regardless of ballet method. Registration takes place at the University on May 10. The performance awards themselves will be held in the Playhouse Sanlam Loft on May 15 and 16.

Mignon Furman is also looking for a pupil with potential to be the recipient of a bursary to attend the American Academy of Ballet Summer School at Vassar College, New York, later in the year. For details phone Ingrid Green on 261-7760 or Betty Blake on 466-3007.
